5¼" Cut Triangle
Each quilt without borders: 26½" x 27½"
Fabric requirements:
All fabric 42" wide prewashed.
   Nine dark 2¾" strips
Nine light and two dark 3" strips
   One dark 33/8" strip

1. Sew a 3" light and 2¾" dark strip together length-wise with a ¼" seam. Press the seam to one side. Make nine sets of strips.

2. Cut 5¼" triangles from the strip set, using the 60o end of the Super 60. Line up the 5¼" line on the tool with the edge of the strip set. For greater accuracy, cut in turn from each side of the set of strips.

3. Cut 10 diamond halves from a dark 3" strip for the fill-in pieces, using the 120o end of the Super 60. Cut six dark diamond halves for the Hexagons and Stars quilt and four dark diamond halves for the Pinwheel quilt. Cut four dark triangle halves for the Pinwheel quilt from a 3" x 5¾" rectangle as shown at right. Turn one rectangle over before cutting to get left and right triangle halves.

4. Lay out each quilt, using triangles with a dark base or light base as indicated by the quilt diagram. Sew together the horizontal rows in pairs, adding the diamond half sewn with one triangle at both ends as shown in each quilt diagram. For the Pinwheel quilt, add left and right triangle halves to the top and bottom row. Twist seams to reduce bulk. Add borders as desired to complete the quilts.
